LINGAYEN, BINMALEY, SAN FABIAN CLOSED

ALL beaches in Pangasinan, except the Dagupan Beach, will be temporarily closed during the Holy Week from March 31 to April 4, according to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRO) in an announcement on March 25.

The announcement said the move was taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19 cases and their variants which is likely expected when throngs of people, including visitors, troop to the beaches.

Temporarily closed during the Lenten Season are the Lingayen Beach, San Fabian Beach and the Binmaley Beach as ordered by Mayors Leopoldo Bataoil for the Lingayen Beach, Constante Agbayani for the San Fabian Beach and Simplicio Rosario for the Binmaley Beach.

Meanwhile, Dagupan Mayor Brian Lim said Dagupan Tondaligan Beach will remain open during the Holy Week but swimming will not be allowed.

Lim said this will allow shed owners and vendors the opportunity to do business, but a joint task force will be in the area to strictly enforce minimum public health and distance protocols. (Leonardo Micua)
