DPWH to consider removal of road islands along JdV Expressway

THE Dagupan Sangguniang Panlungsod has recommended to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) second engineering district either the construction of two rotunda areas or the removal of road islands along the JDV Expressway to improve the flow of traffic.

The DPWH officials that attended the last regular session of the city council rejected the construction of a rotunda because it needs more space and there are no available adjacent lands that could be acquired for these two recommended areas.

However, they agreed to consider removing the road islands because it is cheaper and feasible solution to the constant traffic build up along Arellano Street and the Lingayen-Dagupan road in Lucao as suggested by Councilors Karlos Reyna, chair of the committee on infrastructures and public utilities, and Michael Fernandez, chair of the appropriations committee.
