A 28-year-old woman was arrested, after authorities found out she had been forging the signatures of the town’s health officer and local police chief.

The suspect, Princess Joan Dumio, a resident of Barangay Bobonot, Dasol, was nabbed by the police in Monday, February 22, after Imelda Busto, a midwife in the town’s rural health unit (RHU) discovered her activities.

Busto said Dumio presented to her a copy of a medical certificate, with the forged signature of the municipality’s health officer, Dr. Genaro Merino.

While police examined the fake documents, they also found a copy of a travel authority presented with a forged signature of P/Maj Zaldy Fontanos, the town’s chief of police.

Dumio charged for violation of Article 172 (Falsification by Private Individual and Use of Falsified Documents) of the Revised Penal Code. (Ahikam Pasion)
