Prov’l Gov’t holds Abig Pangasinan in Rosales, Sta. Barbara

THE Provincial Government of Pangasinan brought the services of the Abig Pangasinan Karaban to the Municipalities of Rosales and Sta. Barbara on February 6 and 11, respectively.

“Binabalanse natin ang safety ng mahigit sa 3 milyon na katao sa Probinsya ng Pangasinan at ekonomiya, kasama na ang peace and order, dahil na rin sa sitwasyon ng ating probinsya. Kung kaya’t andito kami na magbibigay ng serbisyo sa inyo. Hindi po namin hinihigpitan, binabalanse po namin kung paano maging ligtas ang buong probinsya ng Pangasinan,” Governor Amado I. Espino III said during the Abig Pangasinan Karaban opening program in Rosales.

A brainchild project of Governor Espino, the Abig Pangasinan is a socio-economic recovery program with the goal to uplift the lives of Pangasinenses and allow them to recover from the adverse effects of COVID-19.

The Abig Pangasinan Karaban is composed of different services from the various departments of the Provincial Government including: Kabuhayan Palengke Karaban which purchases products form local farmers, fisherfolks, and animal growers while purchased items will be brought to the 14 government-run hospitals; Karagdagang Pangkabuhayan or Cash-for-Work Program which benefitted 15 locals who assisted in the Abig Pangasinan Karaban; and the Kalinisan Karaban in which locals are encouraged to collect plastic waste materials to be sold at P20.00/kilo and can be exchanged to grocery items, school supplies and other items available at the mobile store.

The two municipalities also received one unit of grasscutter each as a logistical support to the Kalinisan Karaban program.

Food production support to different associations such as: farm-ready vegetable seedlings fruit-bearing tree seedlings, tilapia fingerlings, water pumps, rechargeable knapsack sprayers, and processing kits were also distributed.

Information desks for livelihood assistance program (LAP), Tulong sa Pagsasanay at Trabaho or skills training and pet care services were stationed in the Karaban.

The Provincial Government of Pangasinan also conducted the Abig Laman ed Barangay providing free medical assistance to Pangasinenses including: free healthcare services, including: medical and pediatric services, laboratory tests and X-ray services.

The Abig Laman ed Barangay is a program of the Provincial Government through the Provincial Health Office led by PHO Chief Anna Maria Teresa De Guzman to bring quality medical services to all Pangasinenses especially in far-flung areas of the province.
