Dagupan active cases still high: 149

AS of 9:00 p.m. on February 4, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Dagupan City remained at an alarming level at 149 when it registered 24 new recoveries, including one death, against seven new confirmed cases, as compared to its 169 active cases the previous day.

This brought the total number of COVID-19 cases in Dagupan to 1,091 and the total number of recoveries to 893. Deaths have totaled 51.

According to the PIO, the city conducted 18,523 tests and occupancy rate at the quarantine facility was at 45 percent.

Dagupan’s highest surge of COVID-19 cases was on January 17, past the period that COVID-19 was really expected to rise as an impact of the last holiday season, when the number of active cases rose to 248, the highest ever registered in the city.

This decreased slightly to 233, 232 and 218 on January 18, 19 and 20 and further down to 187 on January 21. But it went up again to 210 on January 24 and 189 a week after that on January 31.

From among Dagupan’s 31 barangays, Pantal leads with 31 active cases, followed by Bonuan Gueset (19), Bonuan Binloc (13), Malued (12), Bonuan Boquig (9), Mayombo (11), Lucao (6), Caranglaan (6), Tebeng (6), Tapuac (5),  Lasip Chico (4), Tambac (4), Tapuac (4), Bacayao Sur (3), Lasip Grande (3), Bolosan (3), Bacayao Norte (3), Pugaro (2),
Salisay (2), Barangay IV (1), Carael (1), Calmay (1), Herrero-Perez (1) and Salapingao (1),

Six barangays have no COVID-19 cases now: Barangay 1, Barangay II & III, Lomboy, Mamalingling, Pogo Grande and Poblacion Oeste.

Bonuan Gueset leads in the number of deaths at 6, followed by Lucao (3), Malued (4) and Poblacion Oeste (4). (Leonardo Micua)
