Bugallon mayor, 4 others order granular lockdowns
SEVERAL residences in Bugallon town were placed on granular lockdown effective January 19 by Mayor Priscilla Espino due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the town.
In her Executive Order No. 2021-012, Series of 2021, Mayor Espino declared glandular lockdown on the residences and their immediate neighborhoods, compound or streets of 19 patients located in separate areas of Bugallon.
These are three in Laguit Padilla, three in Salingcaoet, Poblacion, three in Romulo Highway Poblacion, in Samat, two in Portic, one each in Lee Sim, Umanday; Salomague Sur, Cayanga, Asingan and Navato Street, Poblacion.
The subject areas, according to the EO, were classified as Critical Zones – residents were advised not to leave their areas.
Any violation thereof, according to the mayor, shall be dealt with accordingly and put the barangays councils in charge of enforcing the lockdown, warning them to be dealt with jointly and severally for dereliction of duty if they fail.
The same EO enforced a total liquor ban and likewise limited wakes of the dead for three days with attendees limited not be more than 50. Gambling is strictly prohibited during the wake.
The EO also banned videokes, computer shops, Pisonets, billiards, basketball and other forms of amusement that encourage convergence of people.
It also banned the travel of persons below 15 years old and above 65 years old except when extremely necessary, set schedules for market days of barangays and limited the number of attendees in religious gatherings, i.e., celebration of mass, worship day.
Granular lockdowns were also ordered in parts of their areas by the mayors of Calasiao, Manaoag, Sta. Barbara, Mangaldan and Malasiqui because of increasing number of COVID-19 cases in their towns. (Leonardo Micua)
