Tulong Pangkabuhayan aids OFWs in Alcala, Balungao
TWENTY-five displaced Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) from Alcala, and another 25 in Balungao town received financial assistance today, December 2, from the provincial government through the Tulong Pangkabuhayan sa OFW Project.
The financial assistance forms part of the Tulong Pangkabuhayan sa OFW Project of the Provincial Government of Pangasinan through its Provincial Migration and Development Council led by Board Member Margielou Orange Humilde-Versoza.
The P5,000 financial assistance is also a component activity of the Abig Pangasinan recovery program, a brainchild of Gov. Amado Espino III, to uplift lives of families of OFW families during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The project aims to provide a start-up capital for the displaced OFWs to help them engage in livelihood and other small business venture.
PESO Labor and Employment Officer Rachel Jose disclosed that beneficiaries of the Tulong Pangkabuhayan of the provincial government are selected based on criteria, such as: cause of repatriation, number of months/years in working abroad and economic situation of the displaced OFW. (PIO/SMDG)
