Home-grown Gayo is new PNP provincial chief
“I AM your big brother who you can count on.”
This was the terse message of P/Colonel Ronald Gayo shortly upon assumption of his new assignment as the new Pangasinan Police Provincial director last December 5.
He took over from P/Colonel Redrico Maranan who served as provincial director of the Pangasinan PNP for little less than two years.
Gayo’s designation was signed by PNP Chief Debold Sinas.
During a simple turnover ceremony at the Magilas Hall of Camp Antonio Sison in Lingayen, an exhilarated Gayo, a native of Laoac town, said ”I am finally home. I’m back and happy to serve my beloved Pangasinan”.
Gayo is not new at the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office. He served as commander of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Group based in Tayug, as chief of the Provincial Intelligence Branch, chief of the Provincial Investigation and Detection Management Branch and chief of the Special Operations Group, all at the Pangasinan PPO.
Before assuming his new post in the province, Gayo was assigned at the Directorate for Intelligence at the PNP National Headquarters at Camp Crame, the same post taken over by Maranan.
In his first marching order to his officers and men as provincial director, Gayo said: “I want my fellow public servants to serve our province whole-heartedly with dedication and commitment” as he cited his plan to further intensify the campaign against illegal drugs.
Before finally bidding goodbye to Pangasinan which he served with distinction for which he and the Pangasinan PNP were cited nationally for outstanding accomplishments, Maranan conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to Gov. Amado Espino III and the provincial government, and to all mayors led by Lingayen Mayor Leopoldo Bataoil, as president of the League of Municipal Mayors of Pangasinan. (Leonardo Micua)
