GOV. Amado Espino III has assured the local tourism industry that the province will start opening its doors wide open after the provincial government determined the priorities which entry points to tourist destinations should be opened.

Espino cited the 11 major entry points as he expressed interest in intensifying the promotion of the ‘Ridge to Reef’ travel bubble program here.

In his interview with Secretary Martin Andanar of the Presidential Communications Office, Espino said the province has too many entry points, making it difficult for the government to decide where to focus given the continued restrictions the government needs to implement.

Espino said it can face problems in controlling the expected influx of tourists through many entry points but added he will continue coordinating with the local chief executives of each town and city in the province who are planning to open up to tourists.

Among the leading tourist destinations in the province are the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Manaoag, the historical Capitol complex, Bayambang’s St. Vincent Ferrer Statue, a bamboo statue, the province’s beaches, including farm tourism sites in Eastern Pangasinan.

Espino assured the province will be opened to tourists from other provinces and regions very soon. (Ahikam Pasion)
