Parasapas Hills in San Quintin temporarily closed

VISITS to the Parasapas Hills, a new and popular tourist destination in San Quintin town, has been suspended effective October 15 to enable the local government to ensure full awareness and compliance of residents and visitors to the health and safety protocols in the area.

This was contained in Executive Order No, 695-2020 signed by Mayor Clark Cecil Tiu of San Quintin dated October 14, 2020.

The E.O. has become necessary to protect the lives and properties of people of Sitio Parasapas, who were affected by the sudden influx of people to the Parasapas Hills.

The mayor said the breath-taking panoramic view from the Parasapas Hills has attracted many, particularly residents from other towns to visit the place for leisure and for other recreational activities.

Mayor Tiu said many visitors were seen not observing the necessary health and safety protocols, i.e., not wearing face masks and face shields, and these pose risks and threats to the welfare the residents and among the visitors themselves so it has become imperative to first institute the necessary health and safety measures.

In declaring the temporary closure of Parasapas Hills, Mayor Tiu clarified that only residents of Sitio Parasapas in Barangay Cabangaran will be allowed entry and exit from the sitio. (Leonardo Micua)
