NO town in Pangasinan can now be considered as having no case of COVID-19 since the President declared a Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine after Dasol finally registered its first ever case last October 10.

A 62-year-old woman from Purok 5 in Barangay Poblacion in Dasol was declared positive for COVID-19 after her RT- PCR test showed she tested positive.

Dasol used to be the lone town among the 44 towns and four cities in Pangasinan with zero COVID-19 case for seven months and was scheduled to hold a Thanksgiving Prayer until this news broke out.

Dasol Mayor Noel Nacar, said the woman, who visits Dagupan City twice a week  for her dialysis at a hospital, suffers from a chronic renal disease, diabetes mellitus and hypertension. She is now confined in a hospital.

Personnel of the Rural Health Unit are now conducting time line history of the patient and at the same time contact tracing to persons of the town she had a close contact with.

Records of RHU Dasol showed that as of October 11, another possible COVID-19  case was recorded, plus 15 suspected cases (two died while 13 others had recovered and discharged from their isolation).

Only Agno, Burgos, San Quintin, Sto. Tomas, Umingan, Urbiztondo are COVID-19-free to date. (Leonardo Micua/Philstar Wire Service/ECV)
