THE provincial government of Pangasinan earned another feather in its cap after being adjudged as among the Top 10 “Employers of the Year” in the world for the Investors in People (IIP) Awards 2020.

The recognition was earned when the provincial government under the stewardship of Gov. Amado I. Espino III earlier acquired the accredited status from the Investors in People, Inc., a global accreditation body for people management that measures the performance levels of organizations.

Provincial Human Resources Management and Development Officer Janet Asis said Pangasinan applied for the accreditation to be measured how it practices investment to its people.

According to Asis, the provincial government went through a thorough process before earning the recognition, from the employee survey, followed by a discussion of baseline data that revealed the performance level of the organization and recommendations to meet the indicators in order to acquire accreditation.

The provincial government then underwent a four-day Assessment Visit on September 10-12, 2019 where several employees of different employment status were interviewed by the representatives from Investors in People Philippines (IIP) led by Pinky Diokno.

A Feedback Meeting was held on February this year, participated in by the top management of IIP.

”At first, Pangasinan was among the Top 20 but after The submission of answers to their questions, , then They selected the Top 10 which was announced last Sept. 10 of this year,” Asis said.

Earlier, the provincial government was adjudged one of the finalists in the Search for 2020 Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit (Provincial category) by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI).

Presented was the Abig Pangasinan, a project of Gov. Espino for the healing and socio-economic recovery program of the province from COVID-19. (Leonardo Micua)
