IATF still bans beach picnics – PNP
UNDER MGCQ
THE Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) has warned the public that holding picnics by the beach by families or friends are still not allowed under the modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) and will be arrested for violating the health protocol.
P/Colonel Redrico Maranan, police provincial director, said only health and wellness activities, such as jogging, walking, and cycling, are allowed in beaches, provided that basic health protocols are being followed: wearing of face masks and observing social distancing while in the area.
Picnics in any area are still not allowed, Maranan said.
This was pointed out when he received reports that residents and visitors have started to flock to beaches for leisure and there were reports of increasing number of violations of the health protocol.
He warned that the police are ready to arrest the violators for violating R.A. 11469 (Bayanihan Act 1) and will be detained.
Maranan said the police have started coordinating with governments of Binmaley, Lingayen and Dagupan City for stricter implementation of restrictions and the health protocol. (Ahikam Pasion)
