Woman tests positive for COVID-19 after childbirth
A woman in San Jacinto town tested positive for COVID-9 after giving birth.
The town’s information office confirmed that the town’s second case is a 34-year-old woman from Barangay Sta. Maria, and is currently staying in Baguio City.
The town’s Rural Health Unit (RHU) clarified the patient went to Baguio City for her pre-natal check-up on August 3.
Because she tested negative during the check-up in accordance to the protocol of the hospital in Baguio, she was deemed asymptomatic when she arrived from San Jacinto.
However, when she was tested again before she was admitted to deliver her baby, on August 12, the result was positive. Her contacts in San Jacinto were immediately advised to be quarantined and to be tested. (Ahkam Pasion)
