Sual sitio with 3 new cases ordered locked down

ONE sitio in Sual was placed under lockdown and a barangay under Modified General Community Quarantine when the town registered nine COVID-19 patients last Thursday, the highest among 18 towns and cities still affected by the COVID-19 contagion.

Mayor Liseldo Calugay ordered the lockdown on Sitio Bagatan in Barangay Calumboyan last August 11 where three new confirmed COVID-19 are from.

At the same time, Calugay issued another executive order also placing Barangay Pangascasan under MGCQ while ordering limited transaction in the town’s municipal hall.

Corollary to this, he also ordered the establishment satellite sites of the mayor’s office to ensure to ensure continuous access of the people to public services.

Calugay said that of the town’s nine COVID-19 cases as of August 11, six are front line workers, most of them holding office at the municipal hall.

The limited transaction in the municipal hall, according to the mayor, is in line with the municipal government’s efforts to prevent, contain infection of COVID-19.

The mayor has since ordered the strict enforcement of Municipal Ordinance No. 21-2010, requiring every resident to wear face masks especially when going outside of their residence, at the work place, when entering government buildings and offices and while in public places.
