Retired cop, wife stabbed to death
A retired policeman and his wife here were brutally killed, stabbed 27 times last Saturday August 8.
Police identified the victims as Rogelio Mamuyat, 63, and Myrna Mamuyat, 62 years old, both residents of Barangay Domalandan West in Lingayen town.
Investigation revealed Rogelio was reprimanding his neighbors for playing videoke every nigh and this irked the suspects. They dragged Rogelio to their backyard, where they kicked and stabbed him mindlessly.
When Rogelio’s wife Myrna and their son Rommel tried to pacify the suspects, they, too, were stabbed. Rommel survived the attack and managed to flee.
The suspects brought their bloodied victims to a nearby field where they were left for dead.
The suspects Jose Samson, his brother-in-law Gabby Magante, Lilibeth Santos, and Lolita Samson were later arrested, and the two knives with blood stains were recovered.
P/Lt. Colonel Theodore Lopez, Lingayen chief of police, said prior to the incident, the victims already had a long-standing dispute with their neighbors.
He said the dispute began when the victims refused their neighbor’s request to use their water well. It was followed by the victim’s dog biting one of their neighbor’s kids. (Ahikam Pasion)
