Reclassification of agri lands in city continues

CONVERSION of agricultural lands to residential or commercial in Dagupan City continues.

Approved to be reclassified from agricultural to residential in an ordinance passed during the August 4, 2020 session of the Sangguniang Panlungsod is a 3,713 square meter property located beside the De Venecia Highway in Barangay Lucao.

The approved Draft Ordinance No. 0-768 was authored by Councilor Luis Samson Jr.

Jimmy Gapuz, president of Goldmaster Holding Corporation, that owns the properties had written the city council, informing it that he has applied for the backfilling of three parcels of rice land that his company bought during the first quarter of 2020 located across the PhilHealth regional office along De Venecia Highway in Lucao.

He said Barangay Lucao already adopted a resolution approving the request for land conversion sought by the corporation.

The ordinance cited the benefits of the proposed reclassification not only to the barangay but to the city as well because of increased revenue from real estate taxes.

In approving the ordinance, the SP directed the corporation to provide drainage for public use, and that ordinance will take effect upon approval and compliance with Presidential Memorandum Circular No. 4 and review by the Housing Land Use and Regulatory Board of the application for reclassification filed.
