Prov’l Gov’t conducts Abig Pangasinan in Dasol, Sta. Barbara

THE Provincial Government of Pangasinan under the leadership of Governor Amado I. Espino III simultaneously conducted the Abig Pangasinan Karaban in two municipalities – Dasol and Sta. Barbara, on August 19.
The Abig Pangasinan is a brainchild project of Governor Espino which intends to stimulate the economy and bring healing and recovery to Pangasinenses who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Governor Espino personally led the launching of Abig Pangasinan in the Municipality of Dasol bringing the three components of the Abig Pangasinan namely, Palengke Karaban, Kalinisan Karaban, and Karagdagang Pangkabuhayan Program.
“Ito ang mga bagay na iniisip ng Provincial Government upang makatulong sa inyong lahat. Dagdag Kabuhayan ang solusyon sa mga problema niyo para makatulong sa panggastos sa inyong pamilya,” said Governor Espino.
Governor Espino also bared that the I Love Pangasinan Kalusugan Karaban will be included soon in the Abig Pangasinan Karaban to health services year-round in far-flung barangays in Pangasinan.
In addition, the Office of the Provincial Agriculture also distributed various fruit-bearing and vegetable seedlings and sprayer.
The Abig Pangasinan in Dasol also brought the loan assistance desk for farmers and fisherfolks through the Provincial Population Cooperative, Livelihood and Development Office.
Joining Governor Espino during the Abig Pangasinan in Dasol were 1st district Board Member Orange Humilde Verzosa, Dasol Mayor Noel Nacar, General Services Officer Gladish Domalanta, Provincial Planning and Development Officer Benita Pizzaro, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Emil Samson, Provincial Agriculturist Dalisay Moya, Provincial Population, Cooperative, Livelihood and Development Officer Ellsworth Gonzales at Provincial Veterinarian Jovito Tabarejos.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Government of Pangasinan awarded a total of P5-million worth of farm machineries to 12 farmer groups at the Pangasinan Rice Processing Complex in Sta. Barbara.
The Awarding and Turn-Over of Farm Machineries to Farmer Beneficiaries is another component of the Abig Pangasinan Karaban which aims to assist Covid-19 affected Pangasinenses particularly, Pangasinense Farmers.
“Ito ay parte ng programa ni Governor Espino na Abig Pangasinan. Ito ay para sa mga magsasaka, suporta sa ating mga magsasaka para mabawasan ang kanilang gastusin sa kanilang pagsasaka,” said Assistant Provincial Agriculturist Nestor Batalla.
The farm machineries distributed include one Combine Palay Harvester, one 4-Wheel Drive Tractor and 10 hand tractors.
It can be noted that the 10 hand tractors were from the Provincial Government of Pangasinan’s grant after receiving in the Rice Achievers Award while the combine harvester and 4-wheel drive tractor were given by the Department of Agriculture.
“Iyong sampung hand tractors o kuliglig na ibibigay natin ngayon ay premyo natin ito noong 2017 Rice Achievers kung saan nanalo ang Pangasinan. Iyong isang tractor at harvester ay ibigay ni Secretary William Dar ng Department of Agriculture,” said Mr. Batalla.
Recipients of the 10 hand tractors were from: Urdaneta (3), San Quintin (1), Natividad (1), San Nicolas (1), Tayug (1), Manaoag (1), Umingan (2) while one association in San Fabian received the combine harvester, and one association from San Jacinto received the 4-wheel drive tractor.
Board Member and Committee on Agriculture Chairman Liberato Villegas also reminded the farmer beneficiaries to take care of the machineries provided by the Provincial Government.
“Kayong mga farmers ang palaging pinag-uukulan ng pansin dahil kayo ang nagbibigay ng pagkain natin araw-araw. Palaging sinasabi ni Governor Espino na sana itong mga equipment at machineries ay alagaan natin kasi ito ‘yong pang-araw-araw nating kasama sa pagsasaka,” said BM Villegas encouraging farmers to be more cautious amidst the pandemic.
The beneficiaries also expressed their gratitude towards the Provincial Government and Governor Espino for the grant.
“Ang mga ganitong programa na pamimigay ng farm machineries ng ating mahal na Governor ay napakalaking tulong sa aming mga magsasaka para mapabuti namin ang aming mga tanim at makakatulong ito sa aming araw-araw na gawin,” said Mr. Jorge Delos Reyes of Urdaneta City Seed Growers Marketing Cooperative, one of the beneficiaries.
