A 32-year-old health frontliner became the city’s 41st active COVID-19 case, after a three-week hiatus.

Dr. Ophelia Rivera, the city’s COVID-19 focal person, revealed the latest patient as a male resident of Barangay Mayombo.

The patient was made to take a reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test last Wednesday, August 12, after he was exposed to a COVID-19-positive patient. His test results came out August 13 – positive for COVID-19.

He was immediately isolated, and is currently admitted at Region 1 Medical Center.

As of Thursday, the city recorded 41 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 38 of whom have recovered, while two died. (Ahikam Pasion)
