BIR extends deadline for online business registration

THE Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) District Office 4 has extended the deadline for the registration of all online businesses until August 31, originally set on July 31.

According to Revenue District Officer 4 Ernesto Mangabat, BIR extended the deadline due to the ongoing difficulties during the community quarantine and to provide safety nets to businesses and consumers.

Meanwhile, BIR reminded business owners that their trading activities are illegal if not registered.

Mangabat assured registrants that the information they provide is protected under the Data Privacy Act as he warned that BIR’s Oplan Kandado is ongoing, closing down establishments that fail to pay taxes and do not declare true income. (Nora Dominguez)
