3,905 OFWs return, 8 tested positive
OF the 6,856 repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) from Region 1 that have returned, 3,905 are from Pangasinan.
This was bared by Gerardo Rimorin, regional director of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in Region 1, during the Virtual KBP Forum last Thursday.
Other OFW returnees were 1,191 from La Union, 980 from Ilocos Sur, 716 from Ilocos Norte and 44 others.
All the returnees were transported to their respective provinces by OWWA.
He said of the 3,905 OFWs, eight eventually tested positive with COVID-19 and all received P10,000 to P20,000 in financial assistance. (Leonardo Micua)
