GCQ PROTOCOL

PERSONS who plan to enter the province should first secure a travel authority from the police station of their point of origin because without it, they will not be allowed to enter and will remain stranded at the province’s boundary.

This was the warning aired by P/ Colonel Redrico Maranan, provincial director of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office, citing the experience of the stranded persons, mostly Pangasinan residents, at the province’s borders.

Persons armed with a travel authority can freely proceed straight to their destinations, he said.

Persons attempting to enter without a travel authority will not be able to pass through checkpoints guarded by the members of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).

“Those without the travel authority can turn back or will be held at the border for 14-day quarantine and will undergo for another quarantine for 14 days upon arrival at their destination.

Locally stranded individuals (LSI’s) processed by the Balik Probinsya program of the provincial government which require medical tests are eventually allowed to pass through the borders, Maranan said.  (Nora Dominguez)
