TWENTY-eight more locally stranded individuals (LSIs) at the Rosales-Tarlac border were allowed to enter the province on June 22.

The provincial government assisted the LSIs who were initially prevented by the Philippine National Police at the border due to their failure to present medical certificates and travel authority.

Before they departed, the 28 LSIs were made to take RT-PCR swab test administered by the Provincial Health Office (PHO).

Stranded were residents of Alcala (1), Asingan (1), Basista (1), Binalonan (1), Bolinao (4), Malasiqui (1), Manaoag (1), Natividad (1), Rosales (1), San Fabian (1), San Manuel (2), Sta. Barbara (2), Sto. Tomas (2), Tayug (6), Umingan (1), Urdaneta City (1) and Villasis (1).

The provincial government has been facilitating the entry of the LIS at the Rosales border since May: the first batch composed of 46 residents were assisted on May 7; 2nd batch of 59 residents went home on May 13; 3rd batch of 52 re-entered on May 26; 4th batch of 49 were assisted on May 31; 5th and 6th batches of 23 and 17 were transported to their hometowns on June 8 and June 15, respectively.

Also assisted were 50 LIS at the Mangatarem-Tarlac border on May 8 and another batch of 19 on May 13.

Gov. Amado Espino III earlier reminded residents returning to Pangasinan from other regions must continue to secure health clearances and travel authority even under the Modified General Community Quarantine status. (PIO/SMDG)
