THE CSI Warehouse in Barangay Lucao, Dagupan City that was razed by fire dawn on March 31 will set up a temporary grocery operations in Stadia, the convention center inside the sprawling CSI compound to enable regular patrons and customers to continue buying their grocery needs at usual wholesale prices.

Former Dagupan City Mayor Belen Fernandez, whose family owns the CSI Group of Companies that operates a chain of malls in Region 1, announced this during an interview aired by Aksyon Radyo Pangasinan.

“We expect the grocery operations at the Stadia to start possibly this week,” Fernandez said.

The fire gutted the CSI Warehouse’s grocery section, department store and also damaged the cinema area of the mall.
The CSI Stadia is where the Sari-Sari Store Fair is held annually for the benefit of the sari-sari store owners. “It will have the usual basic grocery items plus some vegetables and fruits,” she said.

“We know that this is badly needed by sari-sari store owners so they can have something to sell in their neighborhood especially during this difficult time,” she said.

As of April 2, Fernandez said fire probers are still investigating the cause of the fire that reached fourth alarm and needed 18 fire trucks from different areas to help put off the conflagration.

“Time will come when we CSI (Warehouse) can fully serve you,” Fernandez said. The CSI Warehouse in Dagupan is the biggest outlet of goods among CSI’s chain of warehouses in the region. (PhilStar Wire Service/ECV)
