Only 5 towns, 2 cities infected by COVID-19
FLATTENING THE CURVE
AS of 9:00 a.m. on April 17, the COVID-19 infection in Pangasinan is closer to flattening the curve after determining that only two cities and five towns are infected while 41 towns and cities are already free of the coronavirus.
The updated statistics released by the Provincial Health Office (PHO) show that of the 36 confirmed COVID-19 cases compiled so far, 13 had recovered, 14 are still confined in various hospitals and only nine had died.
Almost all of the PUIs that died were from other causes, not COVID-19, hence, this led to the conclusion that many of the towns were not infected after all, that there was no human and community transmission in the barangays.
The towns of Malasiqui, San Fabian Basista, Urbiztondo and Alaminos City, that earlier registered COVID-19 deaths were delisted as infected towns, making 41 towns and cities as COVID-19 free, according to the PHO statistics.
