DAGUPAN City Mayor Brian Lim lifted the almost month-long lockdown of Barangay Pogo Chico at 5:00 a.m. on April 18.

This after a couple, both medical frontliners from Pogo Chico, who earlier tested positive for COVID-19 on March 31 recovered. They were on home quarantine in the barangay. The wife is 49-year old while her husband is 54 years old.

The second swab tests of the couple on April 17 turned out negative. The wife had no history of travel but her husband had traveled to Manila, considered as the epicenter of COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines.

The two were among the five COVID-19 patients who recovered in Dagupan.

The other patients that recovered were:

  1. A 50-year-old female from Lucao who was discharged on April 14 at R1MC. Her lab result showing she is positive from COVID-19 was released on March 31. She is a hospital employee.
  2.  A 37-year old male from Bonuan Gueset who was discharged from the Region 1 Medical Center on April 14. His lab result showing negative of the virus was released on March 31.
  3. A 23-year old female from Bonuan Binloc who was discharged from R1MC on April 7 after being confined on March 28. Her second swab result was released on April 16 and was negative.

In lifting the lockdown in Pogo Chico, Lim however, clarified that the quarantine rules in the barangays are still in effect and will be enforced.

Earlier, Lim also announced the extension of the Extreme Enhanced Community Quarantine (EECQ) in the city to April 30 on the day the Enhanced Community Quarantine for Luzon ordered by President Duterte ends. (Leonardo Micua)
