Deaths of 43 PUIs not a cause for alarm – Capitol
THE provincial government assured residents there is no reason to be alarmed over reported 228 cases of Patients Under Investigations (PUIs) or suspects in Pangasinan.
The Provincial Information Office (PIO) said out of the 228 suspected cases 162 (72%) have recovered, 23 (10%) remain confined in various hospitals and only 43 (18%) have died as of April 23.
Of the 43 cases that died, 37 (86%) tested negative of COVID-19 or for other causes while five others are still awaiting test results and one had no specimen collected.
The 43 fatalities were from Bayambang, (3), Labrador (3), Lingayen (3) and Urdaneta City (3); Alaminos City (2), Asingan (2), Binmaley (2), Malasiqui (2), Mapandan (2), Pozorrubio (2), and San Carlos City (2) and one each from Anda, Bani, Bolinao, Dagupan, Dasol, Infanta, Laoac, Manaoag, Mangatarem, Rosales, San Fabian, San Quintin, Tayug and Umingan.
Until April 23, there were 94,921 Persons Under Monitoring in Pangasinan, and 90,538 completed their quarantine; 3,991 are still undergoing their 14-day quarantine and 392 have incomplete quarantine.
Meanwhile, latest update of Dagupan PIO, shows eight dead PUI cases, seven turned out to be negative while one is still awaiting results. (Leonardo Micua)
