Ambulance intercepted attempting to smuggle in persons
AN ambulance owned by the Sta. Barbara local government, was intercepted by authorities for attempting to smuggle individuals into the province this afternoon in violation of the Extended Enhanced Community Quarantine protocol.
The ambulance, driven by Mark Arky Idos and companion Dennis Paragas, both residents of Sta. Barbara, were allegedly instructed by their Rural Health Unit (RHU) to fetch live-in partners Elicia Von Giese and Daryson Paragas, both town residents, who traveled from Manila by car but denied entry at the TPLEX exit point in Rosales.
The town ambulance was sent to fetch the couple to evade the checkpoint but they were identified by the police as the same persons denied entry.
The ambulance driver and the three on board the ambulance were arrested and will be charged for violation of the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.
According to Police Provincial Director P/Col. Rederico Maranan, Pangasinan is under the EECQ until midnight of April 30 and entry of anyone will be barred unless they agree to a forced 14-day quarantine. Only authorized person outside residence (APOR) are allowed free entry-exit in Pangasinan. (Ahikam Pasion/Nora Dominguez)
