27 confirmed, 9 died; 75 PUIs, 84,311 PUMs

COVID-19 IN PANGASINAN

COVID-19 cases continues to rise in Pangasinan with 27 confirmed cases recorded,  nine died, 22 have been confined as of 7:00 pm on April 3.

This was reflected in the report of the Provincial Health Office.

The latest fatality a was a seven-year old girl from San Fabian who died on March 26 at the La Union Medical Hospital in Agoo but the confirmation on her throat swab from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine in Alabang, Metro Manila was only known five days later.

The other fatalities were from Lingayen, Basista, Urbiztondo, Malasiqui, Bayambang and Rosales.  COVID-19.

To date, confirmed cases still in confinement are in Dagupan (5), Bayambang (3), Malasiqui (2), and one each from Rosales, Urdaneta, Pozorrubio, Sto. Tomas, Asingan,  Bugallon, Infanta and Alaminos City.

Meanwhile, the number  of Patients Under Investigation (PUIs)  has risen to 75

Of those admitted in hospitals, according to the monitoring report, three are from Malasiqui, four are from Dagupan City and one each from  Mangaldan, San Jacinto, Urdaneta City, Binalonan, Sison, Umingan, Sto. Tomas, Lingayen, Bugallon, Agno and Manaoag.

Nine PUIs  also died. These are  two in Dagupan City, and one each in Bani, Malasiqui, Bayambang, Rosales, Alaminos City, Tayug and Mapandan.

There are also 84,311 reported as PUMs in Pangasinan. Of the number, 17,946 or 21.3 percent are under 14-day quarantine, 66,043 or 78.3 percent have completed their quarantine  and 322 or .04 percent have not completed their required quarantine.

In Dagupan City, only Barangay Pogo Chico is on lockdown due to the presence of two persons with confirmed COVID-19 cases in their home while two others, one from Bonuan Guesete and another from Lucao, are now being treated at the Region 1 Medical Center.

Meanwhile, the Barangay Council of Binloc passed a resolution asking Mayor Brian Lim to also put their barangay on lockdown to prevent the entry of people with symptoms of COVID-19.

A 25-year-old female from Bonuan Binloc, with no history of travel and with still unknown exposure became the fifth COVID-19 patient in Dagupan after experiencing  symptoms of the disease on March 23. She was admitted at Region 1 Medical Center on March 27 (Leonardo Micua)
