NO QUARANTINED PUI

AFTER the two who were listed as persons under investigation (PUI) tested negative of COVID-19, and released  by Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC) on February 10 and February 12 for validation, Pangasinan can still be considered as COVID-19 free.

“Nananatili ang probinsya natin na COVID-19 free. Wala na ring naitalang person under investigation sa probinsya.”

This was assured by Provincial Health Officer Anna De Guzman during the Lingguhang Talakayan sa Kapitolyo in Lingayen last week pointing out that the provincial government is continuously monitoring including implementation of preventive measures in government offices.

She said digital thermometers are in place to monitor the status of employees and clients in provincial government offices while first aid areas are set-up to attend to employees and clients reach 38° C body temperature.

Bottles of alcohol and sanitizer have been provided in the offices as well.

However, she expressed concern over the opening of borders to countries with cases of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Gov. Amado Espino III postponed the events and services of the provincial government earlier this month until mid-April, among these include the month-long celebration of Pista’y Dayat that has been moved to start on April 24.

Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Officer Ma. Luisa Elduayan and Special Events Team Chief Marife Acerit said the celebration of Agew na Pangasinan will be observed in simpler but meaningful way.

De Guzman said cases of COVID-19 are predicted to occur less during the summer season as the virus is resistant to a hot environment.

However, she also warned Pangasinenses of traditional heat-related diseases such as sore eyes, sun burn, heat stroke, and measles during summer. (PIO/PJS)
