Urdaneta, Anda, Sto. Tomas enter quarterfinals

THREE LGU teams – defending champion Urdaneta City, Anda and Sto. Tomas – already posted a 9 wins- zero loss in the elimination rounds of the 4th Governor’s Cup Inter-Town/City Basketball Tournament.

The three automatically advanced to the quarterfinals.

Anda has dominated the Western Conference. Lingayen ranked second with 8-1 win-loss while Binmaley recorded 7-2 win-loss status to rank third. Alaminos City completed the list of top four teams in the Western Conference with 5-4 win-loss card.

Urdaneta City tops the Central Conference Team Manaoag is second with 8-1 win-loss, while Mangaldan and Malasiqui share the same 6-3 win-loss card.

Sto. Tomas rules the Eastern Conference with its 9-0 win-loss stas followed by Asingan with 7-2 win-loss, Umingan and Team Tayug share the same 6-3 win-loss card.

The 12 automatic qualifiers will be joined by three more teams to be determined by a wildcard elimination round in each conference. The winning team from each conference will complete the top 5 qualifiers in the quarterfinals.

The wildcard edition started on January 11 this year and will run until January 26.

So far, Bugallon leads the teams standing in Western Conference while Bautista and Bayambang share the same win-loss stats in Central Conference. San Nicolas dominates in Eastern Conference. (PIO/SMDG)
