WITH the end of the Dagupan City fiesta and holiday season, the city government will resume banning the occupation of sidewalks by vendors during the day, before 4 P.M.

According to Michael Hernando, chief of the city’s Anti-Hawking Division, the sidewalk vendors were tolerated to occupy sidewalks 24/7 during the holidays and the vendors were already told to vacate sidewalks during the day and can only resume selling on the sidewalks after 4 P.M.

Last Wednesday, authorities have begun clearing operations along Jovellanos Street, Zamora Street, and AB Fernandez Avenue.

“By morning, sidewalks should be clear of vendors. But come 4 P.M., they will be allowed to sell”, said Hernando.

Hernando said that the Anti-Hawking Division will continue patrolling around the city to ensure that vendors comply with the policy. (Ahikam Pasion)
