Road rehab of Calasiao-Dagupan boundary resumes
THE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) 4th Pangasinan District Engineering Office (PDEO) has resumed the road rehabilitation/construction of the 403-meter stretch along the boundaries of Calasiao and Dagupan City last Wednesday, Jan. 22.
This was confirmed by Engr. Allan Abulencia, resident engineer of the DPWH 4th PDEO and said one lane of the road has been closed from the intersection along Barangay Nalsian in Calasiao, up to the boundary marker in Dagupan City that resulted in rerouting for all types of vehicles.
“The project began last July 2019, however, due to rains, we were forced to postpone the road rehabilitation until the rains stopped”, said Abulencia.
A new drainage system on both sides of the road will also be constructed to minimize flooding in the area while the roads will be widened.
Rerouting of traffic has been set by both Calasiao and Dagupan City’s Public Order and Safety Offices (POSO) as follows: Dagupan-bound Calasiao Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJs) shall take Parongking Road to Tebeng Road, then right turn to Caranglaan going towards Dagupan City proper. Upon going back to Calasiao, PUJs shall take Perez Boulevard–Mayombo–Caranglaan road to their destination.
PUJs coming from Sta. Barbara, Bayambang, Malasiqui; and mini buses from Bayambang entering Dagupan City shall take Calasiao Lasip–San Vicente to Banaoang Road, going to Malued then turn right to Perez Boulevard. Upon going back, they shall also take the same route applied for Calasiao-bound PUJs.
Meanwhile, big buses from Calasiao shall take the old De Venecia highway towards Lucao going to their destination.
Trailer trucks (haulers) are subject to No Window route policy, but other ten-wheeler trucks (non-trailers) may avail of the 9-11 A.M. and 1-3 P.M. window route.
The DPWH project is set to finish come March 2020. (Ahikam Pasion)
