PNP seize 200k banned firecrackers

PANGASINAN PNP arrested six persons and confiscated more than P500,000 worth of more than 200,000 pieces of various types of illegal firecrackers during raids of illegal manufacturing shops of banned firecrackers in Dagupan City and from different vendor stalls in the province after positive test buys.

According to Police Colonel Redrico Maranan, provincial police director, the police launched search and seize operations in known areas of firecracker manufacturers mostly in houses in Dagupan City a day before the New Year revelry that resulted in generally peaceful situation in the province.

The six persons arrested were caught in operations led by Maranan.

The arrested were caught about to light a plapla and unfortunately, these firecrackers were hung on electrical wires.

The suspects were arrested on charges of unlawful use of firecrackers, Maranan said. (Nora Dominguez)
