THE provincial government is set to send P1.3 million in financial assistance to the victims of typhoon Ursula and Ramon in the provinces of Cagayan, Eastern Samar, and the City of Roxas to help in their recovery and rehabilitation.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan passed the resolution authorizing Governor Amado Espino III to make the donation to help the thousands of families in the affected areas.

Board Member Angel Baniqued Jr. clarified that P250,000 each will be given to Capiz province and Roxas City while P500,000 will be sent to Cagayan province and P300,000 to Eastern Samar.

It will be recalled Typhoon Ramon devastated Cagayan November last year, while Typhoon Ursula hit the Visayas Region in December.

Meanwhile, the provincial government already extended food and non-food relief aid to displaced residents of Batangas province due to the eruption of the Taal Volcano.

The provincial government sent 12 trucks carrying the relief goods to the province of Batangas accompanied by 78-man humanitarian team on Jan.16. (Jerick Pasilao)
