Pangasinan PNP holds fun run, camp ride

MORE than five thousand young runners participated in the Takbo Kontra Droga, Krimen at Terorismo fun run organized by the Police Community Affairs and Development Branch (PCADB) of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office held at the Lingayen Baywalk.   

P/ Major Jose Abaya, PCADB chief, sad Police Provincial Director Redrico Maranan directed the activity as an event for the anti-criminality campaign by encouraging young people to work with the police and raise awareness against drugs, crime and terrorism.   

The winners in the 10-k, 5-k, 3-k run received P5,000 while first runners up received P4,000 and P3,000 for second and 3rd runners up.

Prior to the fun run, zumba was held at the starting point of the fun run in the capitol beach front.

After the successful fun run, a camp ride is set to be held on December 20 where 600 motorcycle riders are expected to attend.   

Maranan said the camp ride will start in the town of Balungao and end in the Bolinao town of 200 kilometers stretch and will pass to all the tourist spots throughout the province.    

The purpose of the fun ride is to encourage riders to help report incidents while they are at the highways and to mainly teach motorcycle about safety driving.   

At the end of the fun ride in the town of Bolinao, a seminar on safe driving training and free dinner and concerts will be provided, Maranan said. (Nora Dominguez)
