Gov. Espino says scouting builds youth’s good character and skills

“Sama-sama po nating alagaan ang kinabukasan ng mga batang ito dahil sila ang magbibitbit ng pangalan ng kanilang pamilya, ng kanilang bayan, at ng Probinsiya ng Pangasinan.”

This was stated by Governor Amado I. Espino III during the 2nd Pangasinan – San Carlos City Council Wide Scout Rally for Boy Scouts and Senior Scouts held on October 19 at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center Gymnasium

The Governor also stated scouting activities will help the youth hone their skills to be better individuals and assets in building a better community. Governor Espino said that the youth holds the future of the province.

In his speech, Gov. Espino also commended the parents of the boy scouts in sacrificing their time to be in the scout rally mentioning that their roles in protecting the youth are crucial.

Gov. Espino said that the support of the Provincial Government to scouting- activities has been thriving since the administration of former Governor Amado T. Espino Jr.

Anchored on the theme, “Commitment to Excellence”, this year’s rally further aims to cultivate the skills taught by the troupe leaders to the scouts.

It can be noted that Scouting Month is celebrated during the month of October of every year as mandated by the Presidential Proclamation No. 1326. The Wide Scout Rally is a part of The Boy Scout of the Philippines’s 82nd anniversary celebration.

Also present during the event were Council Scout Executive Scouter Almer Colcol. Regional Scout Director Imelda Samson, and Council Training Commissioner Ronie Bumenlag./Paula Jhea Sison
