THE Espino administration’s Provincial Housing and Urban Development Office (PHUDO) conducted series of training-workshops to update of Local Shelter Plan of Local Government Units (LGUs) and the formulation of the Prov’l Shelter Development Plan.

In the last scheduled training-workshop held from August 26 to 30 at Purok Marcela Beach Resort, PHUDC Chief Alvin L. Bigay said that the provincial government is campaigning for support of all four cities and 44 municipalities in the province and help focus on addressing the problem of homelessness and informal settlements, especially those living in dangerous areas.

The weeklong seminar-workshop which is participated in by five LGU department heads of each town/city notably the city/municipal planning and development coordinator; city/municipal engineer; city/municipal social welfare and development officer; city/municipal assessor; and city/municipal disaster risk reduction management officer, is an offshoot of the updating of Local Shelter Plan (LSP) of each LGU.

“Updating of the LGUs LSPs will be harmonized and synchronized with the crafting or formulation of the PSDP for fiscal years 2020 to 2028,” Engr. Bigay disclosed. (PIO/RRB)
