Youth Week sports events in Mangaldan, Aug 25-26
TO celebrate the Linggo ng Kabataan (Youth Week), the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Mangaldan is set to hold sports events.
On August 25-26, the United Lights of Pangasinan in collaboration with the town’s sports council will hold a Futsal Friendship game at the Buenlag Elementary School.
Eleven teams will participate in games for boys under the 17 years old and below on the first day while the 12 girl teams under 17 will play on the second day. The boys under 12 will also play on the second day.
While on the second day of the competition, games among under age 17 girls category, and the 10 boy teams under 12 boys category will also play.
The awarding and closing ceremonies will be led by guest speakers CEZA Secretary Raul L. Lambino and Mayor Marilyn Lambino.
Futsal is a variant of football game played on a hard court, smaller than a football pitch, and mainly indoors.
Meanwhile, the 1st ULOPAN Invitational Taekwondo Championship 2019 will be held on August 26.while the Inter-Agency Unity Games Basketball and Volleyball Tournament will be held on September 1.
Michael Ervin Lomibao, SK Federation-Mangaldan President said the main objective of the sports activities is to encourage the youth to engage in physical activities instead of just being preoccupied with video mobile games. He added it is a good opportunity to introduce international sports like football and taekwondo in the townspeople. (Melody Valenton)
