Pangasinan to hold youth forum on Aug. 29
LINGAYEN—Sangguniang Kabataan (SK), youth leaders in the province will gather at the Sison Auditorium on August 29 to discuss teenage pregnancy and others concerning the present generation.
Provincial population, cooperative and livelihood development officer Ellsworth Gonzales said the forum aims to give the young people awareness and action to address issues of the youth.
“This is a response on how to give them right information and education for them to have positive values and behavior and to prevent them from early pregnancy at parenthood and they will be responsible young people towards being responsible adults. They should take care of themselves as there are consequences in their future,” he explained.
“The survey conducted by the University of the Philippines Population Institute in 2015 showed that teenage pregnancy among Pangasinenses between ages 15-19 is high and it is on increasing pattern,” Gonzales said. (Helen Martin)
