LINGAYEN–The  Sangguniang Panlalawigan will be transparent, collaborative but critical, according to its new presiding officer, Vice Gov. Mark Lambino.

Lambino in his message on June 30 after he took his oath of office before Lingayen Regional Trial Court Judge Maria Laarni Parayno, said he promises only three things as the new vice governor and presiding officer.

“I will be a very transparent presiding officer to my peers, fellow Pangasinenses, my province mates,” Lambino, son of Cagayan Economic Zone Authority Administrator and new Mangaldan Mayor Marilyn Lambino, said.

Second, he added, “I hope and I pray that this will be a very collaborative Sangguniang Panlalawigan.”

He said they all belong to one province and must live as one family “and it’s high time that we should serve not because we are politicians but because we were elected as servants of the people”.

Thirdly, SP under his stewardship will be “collaborative as long as it is for the good of the province but will also be critical.”

He added “gone are the days when the province is not aware of what is happening or what is going to happen here in the Capitol.”

Breaking traditions, Espino held his own oath-taking, as well as other board members under his wing while Lambino and his allies in the provincial also held separately their oath-taking ceremony Sunday.

Lambino attended his first Monday regular flag raising ceremony of the provincial government but Espino was conspicuously absent. (PhilStar Wire Service)
