THE Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) launched its first of series of conference with mayors of the 4th District of Pangasinan last Wednesday in a bid to establish a synergy in their efforts for an improved peace and order in the districts.

“This is to see how we would help one another; to know appropriate strategy since each district has its own peculiarities. One strategy may not apply to other districts,” P/Col. Redrico Maranan, police provincial director, explained in an interview Thursday.

Maranan challenged the local chief executives of local government units to synergize their efforts for the development and security of their respective towns or city.

He said while mayors are focusing on good governance, the police will provide the security they require based on agreed framework on order.

“To attain peace, there should first be an order. Order in the streets, in every office, and in every home,” Maranan said as he stressed that order and peace are a shared responsibility.

“No one has the monopoly of peace and order. All have the responsibility,” Maranan intoned.

Meanwhile, Maranan reiterated the call of President Rodrigo Duterte for local chief executives to reclaim roads as he pledged support of the police.

“Let us also focus on clearing of vendors, illegal parking, illegal structures and illegal terminals. To our chiefs of police, I will ask for tangible reports; weekly reports to know your accomplishments,” he said.
