THE Pangasinan 3rd District Engineering Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Ilocos Region has started the construction of P60 million-worth of two school buildings in Asingan town.

According to District Engineer Gerardo T. De Guzman, the two school buildings with 24 classrooms are ongoing at Luciano Millan National High School wherein one building, which has an estimated cost of P21 million, is four-storey with eight classrooms while the other is also a four-storey building but with 16 classrooms. The latter costs P44 million.

Both buildings which will feature two science laboratories and two computer rooms, are expected to be completed in October.

Engr. Narchito S. Arpilleda, public information officer, said the new school buildings will address the shortage of classrooms due to increasing number of enrollees yearly.

The school buildings are calamity-resilient and funded under the 2018 Basic Educational Facilities Fund of the DepEd. (PIA-1)
