SK kagawad, 11 others fall in anti-drug ops
WAR ON DRUGS UPDATE
LINGAYEN—In Mangatarem, a Sangguniang Kabataan kagawad was among 12 persons arrested in separate anti-drug operations conducted by the police in various towns and cities in Pangasinan last week.
Arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Burgos, Mangatarem on June 14 was Gelo Aure de Vera, SK council member of Barangay Torre 2nd in Mangatarem, and a college freshman.
Tagged by the police as a newly identified pusher, he was duped into transacting business with a police poseur buyer who bought one sachet of dried marijuana fruiting tops worth P100 from him.
As soon as he received the marked money he was grabbed by other policemen secretly monitoring the transaction nearby.
Also arrested in Mangatarem on the same day similarly for selling dried marijuana fruiting tops were Max Banaga of Barangay Calvo; and Wilmer Ordinario of Barangay Bantay, who are both newly identified drug pushers.
In Urdaneta City, arrested were Abel Barlaan, alias “Kit”of Hilltop, Baguio City; Villamor Sibayan, alias “Amor”, 36, of Barangay Poblacion; Ramsey Basuel, alias “Jun”, 28, of Dilan Paurido; and Angela Binamira, alias Angel, 27, of Zone 4, Barangay Nancayasan for selling shabu.
In Villasis two more drug pushers were arrested in a separate police operation in Barangay Bacag, Villasis. Arrested were Jojo Carrera, 39; and Benny Tolentino, 37, both of Barangay San Antonio, Sto. Tomas.
In Laoac, arrested in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Lico, Yatyat, was Alex Abdullah, 18, of Maliwalu, Tarlac.
In Alaminos City, John Kenneth Siega Cerbieto, alias “Burnok”, 25, was arrested when lawmen served a search warrant in his home in Barangay San Jose, Alaminos City on June 14. Seized from his house were 0.80 grams of shabu worth P3,000, three aluminum foils, and 10 empty plastic sachets. (Leonardo Micua)
