More undisciplined motorcycle riders arrested
SAN CARLOS CITY PNP, POSO CAMPAIGN
SAN CARLOS CITY– The city police and Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) here intensified a stricter campaign against stubborn undisciplined motorcycle riders.
This, after the San Carlos PNP recorded 60 motorcycle-related accidents during the second quarter – from April until June 26 this year – where half of the incidents involve teens not wearing helmets.
Rizaldy Enriquez, POSO Deputy Officer, said more than a hundred riders have been apprehended after launching its operation on Monday.
“Our impounding area can no longer accommodate the increasing number of impounded motorcycles and accessories since the campaign started”, he said.
Most of the violations are no helmet, no driver’s license, noisy mufflers, colorum tricycles.
Enriquez said they will be focus on impounding motorcycles with noisy mufflers soon.
“We will continue to confiscate the illegal accessories, and we will collectively destroy them”, Enriquez added.
Meanwhile, the POSO urged parents to forbid their children in driving unregistered motorcycles, and if they don’t have a driver’s license, in order to avoid penalties and accidents. (Chub Pasion)
