PDP-Laban still majority in Sangguniang Panlalawigan

LINGAYEN–The administration’s PDP Lakas ng Bayan (Laban) will remain the majority in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) for the next three years although the presiding officer will be from the Lakas Party,

Mark Lambino, the newly elected vice governor, will preside over 15 board members seven of whom are reelected board members and one newcomer to push the agenda of reelected Gov. Amado Espino III in his second term of office.

Reelected were Board Member Nestor Reyes (Second District), Angel Baniqued Jr. (Third District), Jeremy Agerico Rosario and Liberato Villegas Jr. (Fourth District); Chinky Perez Tababa (Fifth District) and Noel Bince and Salvador Perez Jr. (Sixth District).

The newest addition is Board Member (PDP Laban) Orange Humilde of the First District.

The NPC, headed by come-backing Board Member Von Mark Mendoza (Second District), will likely be in the new minority. The other NPC BM is Vici Ventenilla who topped the election in the Third District.

They will likely be joined by BM Donabel Fontelera, (Nacionalista Party) who topped the election in the First District and Nicholi Jan Sison (Fifth District).

There were eight board members who ran for reelection but Antonio Sison (NP, First District) lost.

The president of the yet to be reorganized Philippine Councilors League provincial chapter will be an ex-officio board member and also the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation president.

The other ex-officio board member is the next president of Liga ng Barangay Federation to replace Art Brian Celeste who was elected new mayor of Alaminos City. (Leonardo Micua)
