TO further strengthen the rehabilitation services of the Employees Compensation Commission (ECC), the Regional Extension Unit 1 facilitated the renewal of partnership with Madeline Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center at the Luzon Medical Center in Dagupan City.

The renewal of partnership between the ECC and Dr. Cicel Reyna was signed last Thursday, January 31.

Dexter Dupagan, ECC-REU 1information officer, said the rehabilitation center will deliver services to persons with work-related disabilities (PWRDs) under the “Katulong at Gabay sa Manggagawang may Kapansanan” or KaGabay Program.

“KaGabay is an economic assistance program for PWRDs who lost employment by reason of work-related sickness or injury,” Dupagan told the Philippine Information Agency.

The partnership will help improve the health of persons especially those needing rehabilitation services like physical therapy.

The partnership will accept qualified PWRDs in Pangasinan for provided services to Dr. Reyna’s facility so they don’t have to travel to La Union for their rehabilitation needs.

“Dr. Reyna has been a partner of the ECC-REU 1 since 2014,” he said.

“Under the ECC’s KaGabay Program, PWRDs with approved benefit claims (temporary total disability, permanent partial disability or permanent total disability) can avail of succeeding benefits and services provided by the ECC like physical restoration which includes the provision of physical or occupational therapy services and assistive devices when necessary,” Dupagan said.
