7th Kurit Panlunggaring is on
LINGAYEN— The 7th Kurit Panlunggaring, Pangasinan’s counterpart
of the Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards, takes centerstage anew.
Launched by the Espino administration to help contribute in the preservation of
the Pangasinan language, the Kurit Panlunggaring ‘Pangasinan Literary Awards’
is one of the highlights of the 439th
Agew na Pangasinan (Pangasinan Day) celebration on April 5.
Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO) Chief Malu Elduayan said
literary writers can take part in the following contest categories: poetry
writing, and essay writing (youth division); and poetry writing, short story
writing, and children’s story writing (adult division) using the Pangasinan
language.
Theme for
the contests is open and free, except for the essay writing contest which must
carry the theme: “Yaman na Kulturan Tawir, Biskeg na Pangasinan.” The essay
writer shall write about Pangasinan culture, and how it helps in strengthening
the province.
Contest
guidelines, mechanics, and entry forms are now available at the PTCAO located
at the 1st floor, Malong Building, Capitol Complex, Lingayen, Pangasinan.
Deadline for submission of entries is on March 15.
The winners will be recognized during the commemorative program of the
Pangasinan Day celebration.
