Kagawad arrested for firing unlicensed gun
VILLASIS–A barangay kagawad of Piaz of this town was arrested by the police when he fired his gun indiscriminately at his neighbor’s house at 2 a.m. on Christmas Day.
One of the neighbors called the police and reported that their barangay official, Roy Elevazo, fired his gun at the house of Richard Gamboa.
Responding policemen recovered 14 fired cartridge cases for Cal. 9mm in front of the residence of another neighbor Danilo Gamboa.
After the incident, suspect was seen going inside his house holding his gun.
When the police approached Elevazo’s house, the latter initially refused to come out to surrender himself and his gun.
The suspect finally surrendered after a brief negotiation and turned over his CZ Cal 9mm.
When asked by the police his authority to possess the firearm he failed to present any document.
Elevazo was detained for further investigation.. (Leonardo Micua)
