NEW officers of the Division Federated Parent Teachers Association (PTA) Officers recently took their oaths before Congressman Leopoldo Bataoil at the Provincial Training Center in Lingayen.

The new set of officers were PTAs from the First, Second and Third Districts of the province.

Bataoil asked the new PTA Federation officers to help mold the young minds and help upgrade the quality of education in order to make future leaders and good and responsible citizens in the communities.

Citing the famous quote from US President John F. Kennedy, ‘Ask not what your government can do for you, but ask what you can do for your government,’ he urged the PTAs to keep the context of the quote in mind in molding young minds for the betterment of the nation.

Dra. Maria Celia Junio-Fernandez, Schools Division Superintendent of DEPED Pangasinan 1, PTAs help teachers accomplish their mission but the responsibility to teach the children should not be passed on teachers alone.

She reminded the officers that PTA was organized to give a wholistic approached in teaching the children from the guidance of parents, church and the government to make the students self-reliant and be a good citizen. (Nora Dominguez)
